In 2015 "Sentinel Experience" was renamed "Indigenous Peoples Society of South Africa" (INDISA), subsequently a new board was appointed.

SENTINEL EXPERIENCE was established in early 2006 at the initiative of local business leaders, academics and prominent members of the business community of Hout Bay. The formation of SENTINEL EXPERIENCE, dedicated to identifying, creating and encouraging tourism activities in Hout Bay by means of promoting Hout Bay’s heritage and in particular the Khoisan history by establishing the Hout Bay Khoisan Cultural Heritage Centre. Being an integral part of HBBOF (Hout Bay Business Opportunities Forum), Hangberg Fishing Village, Hout Bay Museum, Fishery Museum and CT Tourism (Hout Bay) many jobs for the previously disadvantaged small and medium enterprises will be created. This also will turn other local existing businesses into sustainable business enterprises.

SENTINEL EXPERIENCE office-bearers are up to 60% members of the black (African, Coloured and Indian) community of Hout Bay.

04. OUR MISSION STATEMENT
- To build a Hout Bay Khoisan Cultural Heritage Centre
- To study and refine Hout Bay’s cultural heritage: Tracing Hout Bay’s history back to its birth date and even further to the time when the Khoisan have given this (Hout) Bay its initial name
- To establish a common meeting place for cultural events in Hout Bay
- To promote tourism into Hout Bay
- To promote the film industry into Hout Bay
- To integrate communities and businesses into the growing tourism market
- To Co-ordinate business relationships among its members, network with the local film- and tourism- industry, contribute to a steady tourism influx to Hout Bay and make Hout Bay one of the prime locations to the film industry
- To develop and propagate a strong code of business conduct, which will be guided by the principles of non-racism, non-sexism, democracy and a sustained sense of social responsibility
05. WHAT ARE OUR SHORT TERM OBJECTIVES?

- Visiting (and in this sequence) Namibia, the Richtersveld, Steinkopf and Upington but also Botswana
- Publishing a Khoisan Book introducing Hout Bays Khoikhoin heritage and many other topics of interest

- Establishing a “cultural meeting point” for Khoisan studies
- Develop firm business networks
- Support members and transfer skills
- Acquire and utilise international contacts
- Create jobs and wealth by utilizing the network
- Contribute to local (and regional) economic growth and development and to foster an awareness of and adherence to sound business ethics

All members must be excellent ambassadors of our country and have common knowledge on South Africa’s struggle, transformation and envisaged future.
